This Fan Dropped A Home Run Ball At An Australian Baseball Game And It Cost Him Free Beer For A Year
How will this guy sleep at night? How? This moment will haunt him FOREVER. He'll never, ever live this down, nor should he. Australian baseball here and we got a promotion where if you catch a home run ball during a game, you get a one year supply of Hahn Beer. A truly incredible promotion. This guy had the opportunity and choked harder than anyone I've ever seen.
I know the ball was smoked, but it wasn't towering or very high. This fan had enough time to set up under it and didn't have anyone interfering with him. He's like a kickoff returner planted underneath it. All he has to do is catch it. That's where it goes horribly wrong. He tried to catch it like he was a bullfighter. He's basically giving us an olé motion. He didn't trust his hands either, you could tell. You have to have confident, yet soft hands. Like catching an egg. Have your hands go with it, he just didn't know what he was doing.
This poor guy is going to walk into work on Monday morning and quite literally everyone will know he bombed at a shot to win free beer for a year. I don't know how you live that down, especially in a place that loves their booze like Australia. This will follow him until he's in the ground.
This is also a promotion that MLB should do. Mark McGwire and and Sammy Sosa would have bankrupted beer companies in they did it in the '90s. Imagine the wrestling matches when a ball would go up into the air. They'd look like rugby scrums for a few seconds. And then of course Zack Hample would find a way to ruin it.
But yeah, though break for this guy. All he had to do was catch it, toughhhhh look for him. Guy was devastated too.
